Cashmere is considered one of the most expensive wools in the world. And that’s no wonder, since its production requires three essential ingredients: goats, expertise, and a great deal of patience. Why goats? Because cashmere is the undercoat of the cashmere goat. This animal originally grazed in the Himalayas and Pamir Mountains, but today can also be found in Mongolia, Australia, New Zealand, and Scotland. The material for our WARM ME garments comes exclusively from Mongolia and is painstakingly collected there by hand.
But the cashmere fiber doesn’t just impress with its naturalness; it also has many other advantages. First and foremost, it’s sustainable and has a low human and environmental impact. Its secret: Its ability to neutralize odors. Each yarn that will later become a WARM ME cashmere hat is first individually dyed and then knitted. With a great deal of expertise. And partly using traditional handcraft.

70 knitters work for us every day in a small manufactory located in the heart of bustling Kathmandu. The capital, loud and colorful, provides a strong contrast to the fascinating mountain scenery of the hinterland. A melting pot of trend and tradition. Yes, cashmere hats and beanies are warm and cozy because the material retains body heat particularly well. The fiber also boasts breathable and temperature-regulating properties. Cashmere can thus drain off excess heat from the body and prevent overheating.

Unlike other wool products, you should prefer washing women’s or men’s cashmere hats in the washing machine to handwashing. Do not exceed 30°C and, if possible, use a moisturizing wool detergent or a special cashmere detergent to preserve the material’s natural protective layer.
